Our Philosophy

At BERLIN & CO, we are committed to ensuring the stable, continuous growth of the assets entrusted in us by our clients. Our main goal is to ensure only minor fluctuation of assets after taxes and inflation.

Our investment approach and the investment decisions derived therefrom are always based on the development and continuous analysis of a top down view, subject to continuous review. A healthy degree of common sense and past experience form the most important basis for this approach.

We use no mathematical market or risk models, thus avoiding the false sense of security they provide. After all, we see the world as ultimately unpredictable. The key to successful investing is selecting and allocating asset classes, not selecting individual investments.

Real-estate-based investments have their permanent place in any collection of assets, but not in liquid assets, as implied by their name.

We are open to innovation, as long as it is transparent, comprehensible and makes good economic sense.

In times of crisis, risk management is not a question of mathematical models but of subjective judgment. We define risk as the possibility of losing money.
